You may have been following this story for years...
10 years ago, Forest Fenn, an 89 year old antique and arts collector, hid a treasure chest filled with 1 MILLION DOLLARS worth of gold and jewels somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.
Thousands of people have searched for this treasure over the years, some even losing their lives over it.
Well...it has officially been found!
Forest Fenn made the announcement this past weekend on his website.
He said:
" It was under a canopy of stars in the lush, forested vegetation of the Rocky Mountains and had not moved from the spot where I hid it more than 10 years ago. I do not know the person who found it, but the poem in my book led him to the precise spot. I congratulate the thousands of people who participated in the search and hope they will continue to be drawn by the promise of other discoveries. So the search is over. Look for more information and photos in the coming days”
CNN reported that:
The man was from "back East" and that he confirmed his discovery by sending Fenn a photograph of his newfound riches.
I would LOVE to know where it was found, and how the man figured it out. So cool!
