TikTok wants to put an end to the viral "Milk Crate Challenge" trend which has been sending social media users to the emergency room.
A spokesperson for TikTok has joined the growing chorus of doctors and health officials everywhere warning about the dangers of the stunt in which people attempt to climb up and down a pyramid of stacked milk crates. In a statement, TikTok says they "prohibit content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content." It continues, "We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off."
Hospitals across the country have reported an uptick in injuries as a result of people attempting the challenge
