Johnny Depp appeared as the MTV Moonman at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
It was a pre-recorded stunt as the VMAs' silver astronaut statue and joked that he “needed the work.” He continued to pop up throughout the show and make comments, including about having the show “get back to the music.”
It was Depp's first public appearance since the end of his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard and Amber's sister spoke out about it! She posted on social media: "@MTV YOU'RE DISGUSTING AND CLEARLY DESPERATE! I REALLY HOPE THAT NONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT MADE THIS CALL HAVE DAUGHTERS!.... #DVMAS #ISTANDWITHAMBERHEARD"
The internet was mixed on the stunt, with some calling it "gross" and others applauding MTV for giving Depp another chance.
