It's a great idea, just not working correctly and it's been kinda funny.
The iPhone 14's new Crash Detection feature alerts emergency personnel when it thinks you have been in a car accident. Awesome idea, right?! Welllllll, it has also been dialing 911 unintentionally when your cruising high speeds on a rollercoaster. Imagine what the 911 operator is thinking when they hear the massive screams coming from the other end of the phone?
The emergency dept. near Cincinnati's Kings Island amusement park have already received six iPhone crash-detection calls in mid-September.
This has also happened in Chicago.
If you have an iPhone 14 and planning on going on any scary, fast rides.....be sure to put it on airplane mode and that's supposed to stop the 911 calls.
