****Kelsea Ballerini will join The Voice for the upcoming season.
She'll be the fifth judge on the new companion segment "The Comeback Stage." That segment spotlights six hopefuls from past seasons who return for another shot at stardom. Two winners will move on to join the regular teams on the live shows.
The new season starts on September 24th.
*****Nike Online Sales Surge 31% Days After Colin Kaepernick Ad Released
Online sales for Nike were up in the days after the Colin Kaepernick ad was released. Researchers found that Nike's online sales surged 31% from last Sunday through Tuesday. The company ran its first ad featuring Kaepernick on Monday. Nike's stock initially dropped after the ad but has since steadied. It was up 1% on Friday.
*****As if Serena Williams wasn't upset enough about some questionable calls in her U.S. Open final loss to Naomi Osaka on Saturday, she got more bad news when she was fined $17,000 for three code violations in the match.
That total consists of a $10,000 fine for verbally abusing chair umpire Carlos Ramos, $4,000 for a warning for coaching and $3,000 for slamming and breaking her racquet.
It was during the second set of the match that Williams was hit with the code violation for her coach allegedly giving her signs. A visibly upset Williams told the umpire, "I don't cheat to win. I'd rather lose. I'm just letting you
