Wildlife Organization Urging People to Take Part in ‘No Mow May’

GERMANY-ANIMALS-BEE-APICULTURE

I love this!

A wildlife organization is urging people to leave their lawnmowers locked up until June. It’s a program called ‘No Mow May’.

A study showed that lawns left to grow until June produce a much wider variety of flower species and enough nectar to feed 10 times as many bees as normal lawns.

The organization recommends mowing only once a month at most all summer. If you can’t do that, and you want to help the bees, leave some long patches in your yard.

Some cities are even offering to pay citizens not to mow.

We could join and not mow our lawns in Denver for one month right??
