WHY?? Jeremy Renner Explains

Everyone heard that Jeremy Renner was run over by a snowcat snow plow, but how and why did it happen?

He decided to sit down with ABC's Diane Sawyer for an interview that will air next week. Renner broke over 30 bones and suffered blunt chest trauma when he was run over by his seven-ton snowcat snow plow on New Year's Day. Why did he jump in front of the machine? He was trying to protect his nephew from the machine, it was heading his way and was going to roll over him. Renner said it's something he says he would do all over again. In a preview for the ABC News special for Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview -- A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph, the 52-year-old actor says he remembers every second of the accident, especially the pain, and that he should have died but he "chose to survive."

The special, which airs April 6th at 10 p.m. "I've lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience but I've been refueled and refilled with love and titanium."
