What Are You Doing for the Next Year?

NASA is looking for people who might be willing to put their lives on hold for a year and live inside of their Mars simulator. Those selected will live in the Mars Dune Alpha at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. There, they’ll face simulations of various challenges that could occur during life on Mars, including “resource limitations, equipment failures, communication delays, and other environmental stressors.” In addition, crew members will be asked to perform fun tasks like “spacewalks, robotic operations, habitat maintenance, exercise, and crop growth.” Interested? You’ve got until April 2nd to apply. Oh yeah, they say that “compensation is available,” but that’ll be discussed later on down the line, so don’t expect to make a ton of money.
