How Much Income You Need to Live in Denver

Denver is not cheap to live comfortably, it's higher than the national average.

SmartAssets did a survey around the nation based on the 50/30/20 budget, which suggests 50% of the salary should be used for needs, like housing, groceries and transportation, while 30% goes toward wants like entertainment and hobbies and 20% toward paying off debt, saving or investing. 

The national average income needed to live comfortably is $96,500, Denver is definitely more than the national average.

Hourly wage needed for a single adult: $51.24

Salary needed for a single adult: $106,579

Total salary needed for two working adults with two children: $272,314
