Good VIBES - Army Vet Finds Freedom In Donated Custom Wheelchair

Every weekday Shawn Patrick sheds some light on some good news with His Good Vibes Story. Here is today's...

An Army veteran has received a donated wheelchair that allows him to spend more time doing what he loves. Cody Becker grew up hunting and fishing in Wisconsin and loves being in nature. He joined the Army at 19 and was injured during a training accident and is now partially paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.

But the 32-year-old is now enjoying the great outdoors once again thanks to a custom all-terrain wheelchair that was donated to him. The Beale Family Foundation has partnered with Paralyzed Veterans of America and Action Trackchair to give him the chair that can handle hills, soft ground and more outdoor conditions.

Becker says he’s ready to get back out there and see what his wheelchair can do, but the biggest thing it gives him is freedom and another level of independence. He says, “It gives me a sense of pride that I’m accomplishing something on my own.”
